NeoLithic Ceramic Cooking Knives

Throwback knives. Who would've guessed. These ceramic blades are inspired by rudimentary cooking tools used by neolithic man. I don't think you can go wrong with steel blades and nice safe wooden handles, but apparently designer Matthias Kaeding would beg to differ.

So they look neat, but really, I don't see...the point? God I'm on fire today.

These are prototypes I guess, as there is no word on a release on any of the sites I visited.

My favorite USB gadget since the monkey handwarmers I discovered last winter. This is, in fact, an operable chainsaw powered via USB port. The 3/8" saw chain is capable of sawing through real wood and, one would assume, flesh and bone. Hooray for crazy office toys. According to the manufacturer:

"Cut through different types of wood as you would with a full-sized electric chainsaw. Saw chain (included) delivers fast cutting speed with good efficiency. i.Saw guide bar is also compatible with most third-party saw chains."


No offense to the USB missile launcher set, but I think you've been outclassed here. This new office tool must certainly be...a cut above the rest (Dr. Evil pinky touch to the lower lip)?

The iSaw is 15.2 x 5.8 x 5.1 inches and weighs 8.2 lbs, so this is a very real, no-fucking-around chainsaw, and will be shipped in the fall of 2009.

$175? Mother of god I need to get into this extortionist sneaker racket. I mean, $175 for high performance footwear I can see, but my god these are showpiece sneakers. They're probably made out of vinyl and super glue. Adidas usually comes with reasonably priced gear, but apparently not this time. Sheesh.

USA 2-0 Spain

The United States Men's National Team beat Spain in the FIFA Confederations' Cup in South Africa about 2 minutes ago and I am losing my mind so I will have to write more later. Spain has had its 15-game winning streak and 35-game unbeaten streaks terminated by my boys who play their SOCCER for the USA. European club teams take note: sign these boys up.

Star Wars x Medicom Toy Boba Fett Kubrick Collection

I am alerting all four of you who still read this blog that there are new Boba Fett minis from Medicom and Star Wars coming out. They are mini. They are Boba Fett. Or at least they are supposed to be Boba Fett. I'm a fairly rabid purist when it comes to my Star Wars, and I'm pretty sure Boba Fett never had a cattle prod or purple armor. Whatever. It has been a horribly slow week and I'm basically just going through the motions.

The only one who looks like Boba Fett is the one on the right above here. I'm getting more and more perturbed by these imposters as we go along. I am a pretty big fan of creative license, but I mean come on, these fuckers look like storm troopers, not the last of the mighty Mandalorian Warriors, Boba Fett, Greatest Bounty Hunter Alive!

NYPD Nissan Altima Hybrid Patrol Cars Spotted in the Wild

So I guess the announcement was made in April or something, but here's a pic of the new 35-mpg NYPD patrol car. Yup, that's an Altima. $1500 more per car, 19 mpg more on city streets, looks like something the cops in Luxembourg might drive.
